Earn rewards

The Rewards Visa Card allows card members to earn cash in the form of CRO rewards. CRO Rewards is’s crypto token, which can be traded on the platform in other digital currencies or even fiat currency.

The Rewards Visa debit card is actually a series of cards. Each level of the card depends on how much you bet – the higher your stake, the more advantages and perks you can unlock. The top card, Obsidian, for example, claims to offer up to 8% CRO back on most purchases.

Unfortunately, the amount you need to pay makes the top card inconvenient for everyone but the most devoted crypto enthusiast. In fact, the top two levels, obsidian and frosted rose gold/icy white are out of reach for most people, making the advertised rate of “up to 8%” somewhat misleading.

Unlike other traditional credit and debit cards, the Visa Rewards Card requires you to “share” the money. “Staking” is to lock your funds in one form or another for a specified period of time with the selected platform. In the case of Rewards Visa, this will be and its CRO code. CRO token values vary according to the crypto market and range from $0.09 to $0.12 as of February 2021. Basically, users give the card issuer a loan in their cryptocurrencies and in return offers a host of benefits.

Fixed staking requirements for Rewards Visa in USD instead of CRO.

The frozen funds must be kept for six months. Once the card holder unlocks his CRO, the benefits of each class will be reduced. To retain the rewards and benefits, users can keep their CRO store beyond the initial six-month storage period.

Possible rewards

Forbes Advisor uses data from various government agencies to estimate and determine basic income and average spending across various consumer credit card categories. Income-generating households in the 70th percentile make approximately $100,172 annually and are reasonably able to charge $26,410 to credit cards each year.

Most families won’t benefit from the cryptocurrency that a premium credit card charges, so we’ll base our assumptions on the Ruby Steel card. This card requires a stake of $400.

The Ruby Steel card earns 2% in CRO, so our family can earn $528.20 back in CRO with all fees on the card. The rewards seem more in line if you are already subscribed to Spotify because this tier gets you up to $12.99 per month off Spotify.
