PayPal is taking its own steps with the launch of PayPal Zettle, a digital point of sale solution that enables small businesses to sell seamlessly across in-person and online channels.

With PayPal Zettle, small businesses get an integrated solution that enables them to accept a range of payments in person using a Zettle card reader. The system helps sellers start selling online, and helps them manage sales, inventory, reporting, and payments across channels.

PayPal Zettle will also enable businesses to take advantage of PayPal’s suite of payment and commerce solutions. By partnering with PayPal for both in-person and online commerce, sellers can offer customers increased payment options. These services include credit and debit cards, PayPal and Venmo QR codes, digital wallets, and access to PayPal’s business lending solutions.

Meanwhile, Visa is quietly introducing trial buy now and pay later services, also known as BNPL. Visa launches BNPL in the United States, Canada, Russia and Malaysia. This move means that Visa is venturing into the PayPal domains.

Bitcoin, Crypto Trends Lift PayPal

In late March, PayPal launched Checkout with Crypto. Available in millions of global businesses online, the new feature expands the usefulness of cryptocurrency. PayPal customers with cryptocurrency holdings in the US can choose to seamlessly verify with cryptocurrency within PayPal.

In April, PayPal announced its cryptocurrency on Venmo, a peer-to-peer payment service owned by PayPal.

With Bitcoin on the rise, PayPal is preparing to report earnings on Wednesday after the close. Analysts expect earnings growth to slow to 5% after rising 85% in the last quarter.

PayPal has had an average annualized EPS of 27% over the past three years. Annual sales growth averaged 17% over the same period.

With its SMR rating and successful stock checking scores for pre-tax annual profit margins and return on equity, PayPal has earned a spot among the long-term IBD leaders,

PYPL share fee to the top of the buying zone

After exiting a cup with a handle earlier this month, PayPal stock is now 4% above its buy point of 296.11.

Since the February to mid-May pullback, the RSI line has trended higher but still far from a new high.

Visa stock is up 5% above its entry level of 237.60, putting it at the point of extension from its buying territory.

With Visa ready to report on Tuesday and PayPal stock on Wednesday, see if financial sector stocks can continue to climb on their new innovations and crypto trends. Square shares are due to report earnings on August 5th.
